Project Mexico Missionaries

On Sunday, July 22, 2018 the parish of Holy Trinity Cathedral prayed for the safety of our Project Mexico missionaries.

Irma Baack, Andrew Baack, Charles Fetterly, Dennis Garlick, Katia Sokolova and Elias Zimianitis will head to Mexico on Friday, July 27 with the Orthodox Christian Mission Center to build a home for a local family.  They will be staying on the grounds of the St. Innocent Orphanage and return home on Thursday, August 2.

Since 1988, Project Mexico has been building safe, secure and weather-tight homes for some of the most impoverished families in Northern Mexico. Every home is constructed over the course of four days and built entirely with volunteer labor. Once complete, these homes are provided so that these families can build a brighter future for themselves and their children.  You can learn more about a typical home building week here.

We thank the six individuals who are giving of their time and resources to help others less fortunate.  Please pray for them and for the family who will receive their new dwelling.  Thank you also to everyone who has donated to help make this trip possible as well as providing clothing and toys to bring to the orphans!
