Feeding the Hungry through Feed My Starving Children
Feeding the Hungry through Feed My Starving Children

On Saturday, December 9, 2017, the Trinity "O" Club led a group of 23 individuals from Holy Trinity Cathedral and SS. Peter and Paul parish in Burr Ridge as part of a 3-day Feed My Starving Children Mobile Packing event at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center.  The entire group of 424 people assembled that Saturday from church groups, schools and businesses, prepared enough Manna Packs in their two-hour slot to feed 249 kids every day for a year.

Over 5,000 volunteers gathered over the three day Mobile Packing event to hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children.  Following the packing events, the "Manna Packs" are shipped by Feed My Starving Children to distribution partners around the world.  Food and shipping costs are covered by generous volunteer donations.  If you would like to learn more or make a donation to this Christian non-profit, visit fmsc.org.

Trinity "O" Club is part of the Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in America (FOCA), who's mission is to proclaim, share and reveal our Orthodox Christian Faith through service, fellowship and example.  On Sunday, February 18, the Trinity "O" Club will hold their annual Blini Sunday luncheon.  Proceeds will be shared between Holy Trinity Cathedral and the designated FOCA 2017-2018 Gifts of Love recipient, "IOCC Hurricane Relief."

In addition to the parish's Cathedral Kitchen on the first Saturday of each month, the Trinity "O" Club hopes to coordinate additional hands-on volunteering events for it's members in Chicago in the Spring.  Contact Sue Miller if you would like to get involved in the Trinity "O" Club's outreach opportunities.
