The Prophet Isaiah
The Prophet Isaiah
As we prepare for the Great Fast, Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral's next Bible Study will focus on an important book of the Bible read during the liturgical services for the Fast.

The book of Isaiah will be explored in a series of five classes beginning at 7:00p, Wednesday, January 25, and continuing on varying Sundays through March.  All classes will be held at the Cathedral located at 1121 N. Leavitt Street in Chicago.  Click here for directions.

Almost all of Isaiah is read in Orthodox Churches during the course of Lent (along with Genesis and Proverbs).  So why is this eighth-century BC prophet so important to the churches -- not just Orthodox -- and what are its messages for our faith and practice today?

Be sure to bring a Bible, preferably one you don't mind marking up, and dive into this critical 8th century prophet to see what light may be thrown on faith...our individual lives...and even our conflicted times.

Facilitator:  Jeremiah (Steve) Durham
