Trinity "O" Club Fundraiser Supports Restoration Efforts

Trinity "O" Club held their annual Blini Dinner fundraiser on Cheesefare Sunday, March 6, in the parish hall following the Divine Liturgy.  The event raised a profit of $450.00 to benefit restoration of the Louis H. Sullivan-designed, Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral.  Full dinner tickets were priced at $10 adults/$5 children under 10 and included blini, fruit, dessert, juice, coffee or tea.  To-go containers of 3 blini for $7.00 were also sold.  Trinity "O" Club members prepared and served the cheese-filled blini, and sold out all items.

Cheesefare Sunday is the day before the first day of Great Lent, when Orthodox Christians are preparing to begin the Great Fast in preparation for the Resurrection or "Pascha."  During Great Lent, meat and dairy products are not eaten.  The Trinity "O" Club Blini Dinners have been a long-standing tradition at Holy Trinity Cathedral.

The parish of Holy Trinity Cathedral will celebrate its 130th anniversary in June 2022.  The Building and Restoration Committee is hoping to keep up the momentum from 2021, in which the parish completed repairs to the exterior metal work and stucco and concrete were replaced.  Projects under consideration moving forward, include work on HVAC and flooring in the Cathedral, as well as renovations to the parish hall and outdoor areas to improve usability for the parish and the many community organizations who use the space.

Trinity "O" Club president, Sue Miller, wishes to thank everyone who cooked, served and supported this fundraiser!
