Dormition Fast is starting on Wednesday, August 1. Dormition is a two week fast in honor of the Mother of God. It's a beautiful time and one that I hope you will not pass by without some spiritual labor. During this time we will have two classes on the feast scheduled for Thursday, August 2 and Tuesday, August 7 (see below).

We have two Great Feasts during this time period; the Transfiguration and the Dormition. Be sure to make plans now on how you're going to approach these. Will you be able to make both vigil and liturgy? Will you be able to make vigil or liturgy?  Service times are listed on our parish calendar.

During the Dormition Fast we are going to try something pretty great by having an Akathist all 15 days of the fast. Most of the services will be at our parish, but four times our Lady of Tikhvin icon will be traveling to other parishes. It will be a nice way to spend the fast in prayer and a great offering to our Holy Mother who cares for us greatly with her prayers.  Check out the schedule listed below.
