“Train up a child in the way he should go
and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

- Proverbs 22:6

Holy Trinity Cathedral offers religious instruction beginning at age 3 and continuing on to High School.  Classes are held on Sundays following coffee hour in the parish social hall.  The session usually begins the second Sunday of September and goes on hiatus after Pentecost.  Please see below for the curriculum information, calendar, and the latest news on our church school program.

If you would like further information or have any additional questions, please ccontact Kelly Lardin at churchschool@holytrinitycathedral.net.

We look forward to seeing your children in church school!

Orthodoxy Sunday Procession With Icons - 03/17/19

Church School children of Holy Trinity Cathedral marked the first Sunday of Lent, known as Orthodoxy Sunday or Triumph of Orthodoxy, by processing around the cathedral carrying icons.

Orthodoxy Sunday and Lenten Retreat
March 16, 2019

Dear Church School Families,

Tomorrow is Sunday of Orthodoxy, and the children will be participating in a procession with their icons.  Please bring your child's favorite icon to church tomorrow (We'll have extras if you forget, but it's always more fun to have your own!).

Secondly, the Lenten Retreat is quickly approaching.  Attached you will find a general schedule of the day, a sign up sheet to bring items for our service project (I will have a hard copy of this tomorrow), and a list of things we could use volunteers for.

In Christ,
Kelly Lardin

Church School Outing, February 16, 2019
January, 27, 2019

Dear Church School Families,

We are halfway through the church school year, and the children are learning so much!  As we head toward the end of the year, there are a few updates you need to note and some fun upcoming events.

In an effort to encourage more regular attendance, we will be giving prizes for every 5 classes that students attend in a row. This will start retroactively from January 1, so some children will be coming home with prizes as early as next week.  This attendance includes music classes, so please make sure your children are present for those as well!

Please note a change to the calendar you received at the beginning of the year.  The Lenten Retreat is being moved to Saturday, April 6.  The retreat will begin immediately after morning liturgy and will end with confession around 3:30.  Please make plans to be there!

On Saturday, February 16 we will be having a social outing.  We will meet at Garfield Park Conservatory at 10:00AM to spend a couple of warm hours having fun and getting to know each other better across the classrooms.

On March 10 (Cheesfare Sunday), we will have a cheese pizza party in the hall.  There will be games and activities to enjoy as well before settling in for Lent.

In Christ,

Kelly Lardin
Sunday School Director

Nativity Project

Dear Church School Families, - 12/02/18

It is hard to believe that we are already well into our church school year.  It has been wonderful to see so many children attending regularly.  If you have not been able to make it as much as you'd like, please take the opportunity during this fasting season to jump back in and do a little extra.

For the last two weeks the children have taken orders for handmade Christmas cards and been busy making them.  This Sunday they will finish the production process after classes.  Our service project finale will be held on Saturday, December 15.  Any children who are available beginning at 9:30, can help sell gift tags and cards at the cookie walk.  At 2:30 we will all gather at the church to go grocery shopping for the food pantry with the money raised from the card sales.  We'll end the day with a confession service at 4:00 followed by Vespers.

We will need drivers/chaperones for our excursion.  Please let me know if your children will be attending. If you are available to drive, please let me know how many additional children you can take.

In Christ,
Kelly Lardin
Church School Director
