International Orthodox Christian Charities

IOCC, in the spirit of Christ’s love, offers emergency relief and development programs to those in need worldwide, without discrimination, and strengthens the capacity of the Orthodox Church to so respond.  From time to time, Holy Trinity Cathedral conducts fundraisers to help support this Christian organization's good work.  In the past year, Trinity O Club and our church school children assembled health kits to be sent by the IOCC to those in need.

IOCC has an outstanding record of stewardship. When you give to IOCC, you can give confidently knowing that IOCC is committed to maintaining low administrative costs so that more funds can go directly to helping people in need. Approximately 91% of IOCC’s resources are spent on humanitarian relief and development programs with only 9% for fundraising and administrative costs.

Food Collection for the Hungry

At Holy Trinity, we are painfully aware of the need of the hungry in this city.  Our food donations will now be distributed by the kind folks at Northwestern Settlement, located at Augusta and Noble.

Since 1891, Northwestern Settlement has served Chicago’s West Town community by offering wrap around services that holistically meet the complex needs of our neighbors numbering more than 40,000 annually through programs which focus on education, social services, and the arts, as well as, feeding the hungry.

Donation boxes are located in the parish hall and the need for non-perishable food donations is year round.  Join us in sharing this gift of food with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

St. Tabitha's Circle

Calling all you ladies (or gents) who make knitting needles or crochet hooks sing! (And if you can't and would like to, come and learn!). The next meeting of the Circle is scheduled for Sunday, July 2 during coffee hour following the Divine Liturgy.  We meet at the cathedral to make blankets, hats and booties and donate them to area hospitals for sick/chemo patients.

Bring your yarn, your needles / hooks, patterns, ideas, suggestions, and plan to enjoy the fellowship of needle workers. Or come as you are and we will provide what you need.  Hope to see you!

If you have any questions, contact Matushka Joanna at snichin@aol.com or Arlene Tilghman at arlenetilghman@gmail.com.

Let Our Mouths Be Filled With Thy Praise, O Lord!

The long anticipated CD of Holy Trinity’s Cathedral Choir, under the direction of Deacon Gregory Ealy, is now available for purchase.  "Let Our Mouths Be Filled With Thy Praise, O Lord!", is truly a labor of love as well as being some beautiful liturgical music.

The selections presented are not only taken from the rich and ancient chants of the Church, but also include recent compositions.  CDs are available for $15 each.

Please visit the parish bookstore to purchase CDs.
