Holy Trinity Cathedral is one of 150 buildings featured in Open House Chicago, a free, city-wide, behind-the-scenes look at many of the city’s great places and spaces, presented by the Chicago Architecture Foundation on October 18 & 19, 2014.

The Cathedral, a City of Chicago Landmark, will be one of six Ukrainian Village buildings (four of them churches) participating in the festival.   Holy Trinity will be open for tours on Saturday, October 18, from 10am-2pm and Sunday, October 19, from 11:30am-2pm.

If you are interested in being a part of this Open House, please contact Fr. John as soon as possible.
We will need to have parishioners on site during the “tours” to welcome our visitors, and perhaps answer a few questions along the way.  Depending on how many people volunteer to help, we will be able to set a schedule where folks may have to be here for only a few hours. The more people volunteer, the shorter the time required. Please consider helping!

Founded in 1892, Holy Trinity Cathedral is the home to the oldest Orthodox parish in Chicago.  The Cathedral building was designed by the famous American architect, Louis Sullivan and was completed in 1903.  It’s an official City of Chicago Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Please visit http://www.openhousechicago.org for more information about the festival.
